Model Portfolios
I finally got some time to test my new Softbox!!
80 x 80cm 32 inch Quick Setup Easy Open Softbox for Bowens Type Strobe Light

The large size of the softbox makes for realy soft light that wraps beautifully around the subject. It folds up in seconds (like a windscreen reflector) and is really a convenient size when tucked away in its pouch.
Marida Smit was the model that helped me on the shoot, and I must say I am very happy with the results. Here are a couple of my favourites from the day:

Street Photography
I recently had the opportunity to work on set for the new movie Dora’s Peace made by Kosta Kalarytis.
Unfortunately I can’t show you the stills I took, as the movie hasn’t been released yet. While I was on set waiting for scene changes, I had some time to do a bit of street photography and I must say it was amazing to be in Hillbrow and be able to see how much it has changed from my rears as a teen when we used to go clubbing there.
It certainly isn’t a safe environment, but the amazing thing is to see how ordinary people, very poor people, live and survive under very trying conditions where crime, drugs and prostitution is so rife.
Occasions like these really ground me and make me thankful for all the small an large blessings in my life.
Here are a couple of shots I took during my time on set.
I hope you enjoy!

Coffee Table Books, Couples, Wedding
I always have so much fun doing garden weddings! A beautiful couple that clearly love each other very much, a stunning location and a stunning day! Whats not to love?
I Used a Canon 7D coupled with a Tamron 17-50 and the Sigma 50-150. For a bit of extra lighting I used a YongNuo flash to fill the shadows.
Here are a couple of images from Leanne and Chris’ wedding album:

MeiKe MK-7D/BG-E7 is a battery grip that can hold two Battery Packs LP-E6 or six size-AA/LR6 batteries. It is also equipped with a vertical-grip shutter button, Main Dial, etc. to enable vertical shooting with the same ease as horizontal shooting.
I have yet to test it, but will give an in-depth review a bit later if anybody is interested.
A quick snap from my phone:
